Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Dorman graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School and came to Minnesota "for one year". Many decades later, he and his family are still here and love living in the upper midwest, "the best kept secret in America". He completed his Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Fellowship training at the University of Minnesota and was on staff at the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Hospital for one year before entering private practice. He has been the head of the Rheumatology Division of the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program for many years and is intimately involved with teaching of medical residents. Dr. Dorman has been chosen as a Top Doctor by the Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine each year since it's inception.
He enjoys spending his free time with family, playing or watching virtually all sports, helping his wife in the garden and singing in the choir at church. Special interests in Rheumatology include rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma and Sjogren's syndrome.
